The Happy Homemaking Blog

Hello everyone! It’s a new week and I’m so happy to kick it off by finally beginning this blog. This has been a long time in coming for me and I’m so grateful that everyone reading this has taken the time to support me. 

This post will be setting the stage for my blog so let’s begin with an introduction!

The Person Behind The Blog: Who Am I?

Almost everyone reading this introduction post knows me personally, but on this blog I am choosing to keep my identity private. So, because this is The Happy Homemaking Blog, I will be referring to myself on here as The Happy Homemaker. I welcome any and all engagement that this blog produces, but if everyone could refrain from using my real name in the comments, I would be very grateful. 🙂

But who am I? I am a young wife and homemaker that is very passionate about marriage. I’m a simple girl, really. It doesn’t take much to make me happy. The things that make up my life and bring me happiness are my husband, our little apartment, cooking, and our family and friends. 

I am also a Christian, and that’s a big part of my life too. I love the Lord, reading His word, and always learning how to be the best wife I can be, in a biblical sense. My husband and I got married a little over a year ago, so I still have much to learn. That being said, I’m hoping we can do some of that together on this blog. 🙂 

My story isn’t a terribly interesting one, but in many ways I’m grateful for that because I’ve lived a very happy, blessed life thus far. I was born into a Christian household, with parents that love each other very much, and five younger sisters. I was homeschooled all the way through high school and I did not go to college. I met my husband at the end of high school and we married shortly after I graduated. Now here we are- over a year later, so thankful that God has blessed us with such a wonderful life together, and beginning a blog.

Why Write A Blog?

I am writing this blog for three reasons: 

1. Because I have always loved to write.
2. Because I have a lot of interests that I’d like to write about.
3. Because I feel as though God is leading me to share them. 

Beginning this blog feels like a pretty big undertaking to me, as I want to take it seriously and do my best to write meaningful, Christ driven content. People who know me know that I am not generally one to make my opinions known to others. But I do feel led to do this and I’m excited to do it. I hope that this blog can be a generally happy, cozy place that touches on lots of various topics. 

Which brings me too….

What Can You Expect From This Blog?

In general, my content with revolve around four main topics:

1. Christian Wifehood/Marriage
2. Homemaking
3. Cooking/Food
4. Thoughts On Culture

I’m planning on posting on Mondays at 12:00 p.m. Whenever I post, you will be notified and if I ever plan to miss a week or two of posting, I will notify you then too. 

With those main topics in mind, I hope to touch on many different things- both fun and lighthearted, and serious. Every once in a while though, you may get a post that’s completely different!
